The Study of the Unborn

The third grade class at St. Aloysius did a scientific study of unborn chickens.  In this project they discovered how embryos develop through careful observations, using charts and pictures for comparison. During the project each student became a scientific investigator and kept a detailed book on all the changes that took place.  For this project we used incubators to hatch the chickens.  Everyday the students took turns turning the eggs.  The final day when we hatched the chicks the teacher placed the egg on the “document imager” and zoomed in for a very close picture of the eggs hatching.  By using this technology the 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade all had front roll seats.
